I can't be the only one who feels like this year's going by especially quickly, right? Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic to see the arrival of warmer months. But it's fairly surreal to think that I've lived in the Midwest for close to nine months.
This weekend I'm turning 23 - so naturally I've been caught in a swell of nostalgia, recapping, yada yada. It's always funny to see what can change in a year. 22 was brought in with Athens friends at one of my favorite bars, there was also a hashtag. This year I'm in a new state with all new folks, which is kinda funny because I never pictured myself living in Indiana - yet here I am. So cheers to change, new adventures, and having the same birthday as Prince.
Luckily this change in temperature means more exploring (and of course more thunderstorms). My lovely friend Mariel (who has a top notch vintage style blog) indulged my desire to celebrate birthday week by going to Bloomington's Runcible Spoon. I'll tell you more - but to be honest they had me at "breakfast served all day."
Their lil patio is sandwiched between lush hedges and overarching trees making it quite the nook. They've got a solid beer menu and rumor has it - bottomless coffee for cheap on the weekend. Plus their menus are stacked with options, no matter what you're craving. If you're around this summer there's a very big chance you'll be able to find me camped out here.
I have a playlist making problem in that I can't stop. So clearly I couldn't let this week slide without putting together some of my favorite party tracks. You don't have to wait 'til the weekend to bump it, crank up the volume and tackle those spreadsheets at work. And no, I will not apologize for the amount of Prince here.
